November 2014- Affordable Care Act and Opportunities to Stop Smoking
Tobacco users have more options to help them quit, thanks to the Affordable Care Act. Policies implemented as part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) give healthcare providers and public health professionals several new opportunities to encourage and help smokers to quit, according to a commentary published in the New England Journal Medicine.Click here for more information.

July 2013 - PubMed details a British study.
A recent article published in PubMed details a British study in which the following conclusion was drawn: Quit rates are typically lower for smokers supported by "community practitioners" for whom smoking cessation is a small part of their job than for those supported by "specialist practitioners" for whom it is the main role.
